Common overcharges

Square footage padded beyond normal waste

Installers add about 5–15% for cuts and waste. Much more than that, or measurements above the room sizes, inflate the whole quote.

Subfloor work as an open-ended allowance

Leveling or replacing subfloor may be needed, but the price per sq ft or per sheet should be agreed in advance.

Moving and disposal charged twice

Removal of old flooring and haul-away should be one line, not hidden inside installation and listed again.
